Toole, Shirley Ann Amstutz, 82, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN died October 19, 2017 at the same place from complications of multiple myeloma. She was born August 20, 1935 at Kidron, Wayne Co., OH to Benjamin and Irene (Sommer) Amstutz. On August 19, 1961 at Kidron she was married to Edwin Toole, who survives.
Surviving are two sons, Kendall (Barb) Toole and Harley (Roselin) Toole; five grandchildren, two sisters, Doris North and Gloria (Curt) Nussbaum; and a brother, Kenneth (Vonnie) Amstutz.
Shirley chose to live a life of service by volunteering in each community where she lived; in Elmhurst, IL, she was an active member of Lombard Mennonite Church; in Kidron, OH, she was a member of Kidron Mennonite Church and volunteered at World Crafts, the Heritage Center and the M.C.C. store; and in Goshen, IN, she joined the PHALO book club, volunteered at Greencroft, played with the New Horizon Orchestra, and was an active member of Waterford Mennonite Church.
Memorial services were held October 23, 2017 at Waterford Mennonite Church, Goshen with burial in Kidron Mennonite Church Cemetery, Kidron, OH.
Troyer, Aliyah Rae, was stillborn December 27, 2017 at Bluffton, OH. Her parents are Shane Troyer and Jasmine Foster.

March 4, 1939 - Nov. 15, 2017
SHIPSHEWANA - Andrew C. Troyer, 78, died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, at home, following a short battle with cancer.
He was born on March 4, 1939. On May 25, 1965, he married Mary A. Miller; she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are daughters, Elmina (Joe) Yoder, Loretta Troyer, Katie (Mark) Miller and Ruth (Wilson) Dalga; sons, Daniel (Pauline) Troyer, Samuel (Loretta) Troyer, John (Doris) Troyer, Amos Jay Troyer, Andrew Jr. Troyer; 21 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brother, Levi (Viola) Troyer; sisters, Lydiann (Sam) Kauffman, Mary (Dan) Schrock, Amanda (John) Miller, Fannie Troyer; and sister-in-law, Ruby Troyer.
Visitation is after 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16 and all day Friday, Nov. 17 at the Devon Chupp residence, 950 N. Taylor Drive, Shipshewana. Funeral services are 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18 also at the Devon Chupp residence. Burial will be in East Barren Cemetery, Shipshewana.
Troyer, Dora Miller
July 15, 1927 - July 11, 2017
GOSHEN - Dora Troyer, 89, of Goshen, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Greencroft Healthcare.
She was born July 15, 1927, in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Dan and Ida (Troyer) Miller.
On Nov. 10, 1945, she married Omer E. Troyer. He died Nov. 22, 2009.
Survivors include two sons, Robert D. Troyer of Lewisville, Texas and Denver J. Troyer of Chico, California; two daughters, Peggy (Ed) Garcia of Goshen and Delores (Steve Wogoman) Troyer of Elkhart; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Jake and Calvin Miller; and two sisters, Edna Gingerich and Anna Mae Hooley.
A seamstress, Dora was a member of East Goshen Mennonite Church and Greencroft Auxiliary.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 14, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
A 10 a.m., Saturday, July 15, funeral service will be conducted at East Goshen Mennonite Church with Pastors Merle Hostetler and Naomi Yoder officiating.
Cremation will follow the service.

GOSHEN - Elizabeth A. “Betsy” Troyer, 83, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2017 at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen.
She was born May 26, 1934 in Goshen to Clemens and Anna (Hershberger) Yoder.
On Jan. 14, 1956 she married Samuel Troyer.
He survives along with a daughter, Sandi (Craig) Clark, Middlebury; two sons, Tony (Esther) Troyer, Bay City, Oregon and Mark (Deb) Troyer, Findlay, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Martha Byler, Edna (Phil) Hoffman and Sue (Don) Stutzman.
Friends may call Friday, Oct. 6 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. A Celebration of Life service is 12 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 7, at First Mennonite Church, 203 E. Lawrence, Middlebury.
A family burial will take place at Locust Grove Mennonite Church Cemetery, Burr Oak, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Mennonite Central Committee or RETA.
Troyer, Elizabeth J. Lambright
July 14, 1929 - March 26, 2017
LAGRANGE - Elizabeth J. Troyer, 87, of LaGrange, died Sunday, March 26, 2017.
She was born July 14, 1929, in Nappanee, to Jacob V. and Elizabeth (Kuhns) Lambright.
She married Cornelius C. Troyer; he died Oct. 22, 1989.
Surviving are stepchildren Ernest and David Troyer, Anna Kauffman, LaVern and Roman Troyer, Emma Robinette, Miriam Johnson and Paul Troyer; 44 stepgrandchildren; 170 stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers, Menno and Ervin Lambright; and sister Sadie Bontrager.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a stepson; two brothers; three sisters; and four half brothers.
Visitation will be all day Tuesday, March 28, at the Norman Mishler residence, 0040 S. 600 West, LaGrange. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, also at the Norman Mishler residence. Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery, Shipshewana.

Troyer, Harley D.
Aug. 2, 1940 - Dec. 11, 2017
GOSHEN - Harley D. Troyer, 77, of Goshen, transitioned peacefully into eternal life surrounded by his family at 3:25 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at his residence.
He had been in declining health with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
He was born Aug. 2, 1940, in Goshen, to David and Susie (Miller) Troyer.
On Dec. 13, 1959, in Middlebury, he married Betty Miller; she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are two daughters, Cindy (Allen) Eash of Middlebury and Rose (Jason) Yoder of Middlebury; three sons, Jim (Shirley) Troyer of Goshen, Steve (Regina) Troyer of Elkhart and Jerry (Corine) Troyer of Goshen; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchild; sister Edna (Mel) Shetler of Goshen; brother Edwin (Fern) Troyer of Bristol; and brother-in-law, Dale Miller, whom Harley and his wife, Betty provided care, for 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Benjamin Ross Eash; two sisters, Marie Mast and Anna Mae Mast; and four brothers, Leroy, David Jr., Melvin and his twin, Harvey Troyer.
Harley was pastor at Griner Mennonite Church for 40 years and overseer of various churches.
He was vice president of engineering at Rockwood for 17 years and he and his wife were Shaklee sales leaders.
In retirement Harley was co-owner of ImageLaz.
He was active in leadership of the Conservative Mennonite Conference and the Clinton Christian School Board where he had served as superintendent.
He volunteered at Menno-Hof and at Gospel Echoes where he graded papers.
He served on the board at Greencroft where he also taught Sunday school.
Harley enjoyed fishing, biking, photography, and golf.
He was a faithful husband, father and grandfather and loved spending time with his family.
Visitation will be from 5- 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, and 2 - 5 and 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at Griner Mennonite Church, Middlebury.
There will be an 11 a.m. public graveside service Saturday, Dec. 16, at Griner Cemetery followed by a 1 p.m. celebration of life service at Griner Mennonite Church.
Services will be conducted by Pastors Jim Eigsti and Robert Riegsecker.
Memorials may be given to Gospel Echoes or Serve India.
Troyer, Irma Yoder
May 29, 1922 - Sept. 29, 2017
SHIPSHEWANA - Irma Troyer, 95, of Shipshewana, died at 4:25 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, at her residence.
She was born on May 29, 1922, in Shipshewana to Levi C. and Fannie A. (Beechy) Yoder.
On March 31, 1942 she married Howard H. Troyer, he died Sept. 25, 2003.
Surviving are five daughters, six sons; 70 grandchildren, 262 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren; two sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters; five brothers; eight great grandchildren.
Irma was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation is after 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, and all day Sunday, Oct. 1, at the family’s residence, 2125 North 1100 West, Shipshewana.
Funeral is 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 2, at the residence.
Services conducted by Bishop Glen Miller and the home ministers.
Burial is in Naylor Cemetery, Shipshewana.

GOSHEN - Irma E. Troyer, 99 years, 11 months and five days, of Goshen, died Tuesday evening, May 23, 2017, at Greencroft Healthcare.
She was born June 18, 1917, in LaGrange, to Jeptha S. and Ada (Yoder) Troyer.
Irma is survived by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Nora Bender, Ruby Leichty, Elsie Birky, Elva Stutzman, Wilma Troyer, Chris Troyer, Mahlon Troyer, Arthur Troyer, Ed Troyer and Raymond Troyer.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday, May 26, at North Goshen Mennonite Church, 501 N. 8th St., with a funeral service starting at 10 a.m.
Pastor Mark Schloneger will officiate. Burial will follow in Townline Cemetery, Shipshewana.
Memorial gifts may be directed to the church.

GOSHEN - Mary E. Troyer, 82, of Goshen, formerly of Middlebury, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017.
She was born June 25, 1935, to Eli A. and Ida E. (Miller) Miller.
On Feb. 26, 1956, she married David D. Troyer Jr.; he died Sept. 11, 1999.
Surviving are daughter Norma (Philip) Baugher; five sons, Richard (Bonnie), David (Martha), Delmar (Nancy) Troyer, Verlin and John (Sheila) Troyer; 34 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; sister Mabel (Jonathan) Stoltzfus; two brothers, Mervin (Lola) and Maynard (Carol) Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Faith Troyer; and great-granddaughter, Hannah Schlabach.
Visitation will be from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, July 14, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral Saturday, July 15, all at Woodlawn Mennonite Church, Goshen.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Goshen.
Memorials may be given to Woodlawn Mennonite Church.
Troyer, Shirley Holaway
Feb. 23, 1917 - Aug. 4, 2017
CORYDON - Shirley Holaway Troyer, 100, of Corydon, formerly of Goshen, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, was born near Nappanee on Feb. 23, 1917, to Clarence (CJ) and Ella (Mullet) Holaway.
She passed away Friday, Aug. 4, 2017. She was the eldest of eight children.
She graduated from Nappanee High School, Goshen College and the University of Colorado. She began her teaching career in a one room school at 19 and continued to teach for more than 30 years as well as pursue higher education including a master’s degree and a school librarian certification.
In 1942, she married Francis Troyer of Shipshewana. He preceded her in death.
Both Shirley and Francis taught many years in the Elkhart school system.
She is survived by her sisters, Virginia Skiles and Rachel (Leon) Garot; her brother, Lamar Holaway; children Kristin Ems (Willie), Ingrid Eash (Glen), Eric Troyer and Yvonne Troyer; her grandchildren, Jessica Lehman, Matt Eash, Susan Lehman, Asia Troyer, Carter Eash, Gretchen Lehman, Lindsay Shannon, and Lauren Troyer; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A dedicated teacher for many years, Shirley also enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, quilting, drawing or painting, singing, growing her garden and ‘putting up’ for the winter. She passed on her interests, knowledge and skills to her children and grandchildren as well as to many friends and students she served.
In later years her vision failed her but she continued to enjoy recorded books and classical music.
She was a member of Prairie Street Mennonite Church in Elkhart for many years and served there in several roles.
In recent years she lived in Harrison County to be close to family support.

Troyer, Tyler Dean
March 11, 1992 - December 6, 2017
Tyler Dean Troyer, 25, of Kingsley, Michigan went to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 6, 2017. He was born in Orville, Ohio on March 11, 1992. He lived in Millersburg, Ohio until his family moved to Kingsley, Michigan in 2008. He was a member of Traverse Bay Mennonite Church in Traverse City, Michigan.
Tyler taught school at United Christian Mission School in Belize for four years. Children had a special place in his heart, especially his nieces and nephews. He also loved singing. He was currently employed by L & W Builders. His outgoing personality and love of laughter reached out to many.
Dearly loved, he will be greatly missed by his parents, Delmar and Karen (Wengerd) Troyer, brother Travis and Emily (Schlabach) Troyer, sister Jaimie (Troyer) and Kendall Schrock, nieces Brianna, Kiersten, Addison, and Megan Troyer, and nephews Blake and Derek Schrock.
He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Ivan Troyer and Raymond Wengerd. He is also survived by his grandmothers, Katie Ann Troyer and Mattie Wengerd.
Funeral services were held at East Bay Calvary Church, 2225 Hammond Rd., Traverse City, Michigan, on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM with visitation an hour before the service. Friends stopped by on Friday, December 8 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at East Bay Calvary Church.
Arrangements were entrusted to Covell Funeral Home in Kingsley.

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, MI - A man snowblowing his driveway was killed when a vehicle left the road and hit him.
The victim, a 25-year-old Kingsley man, died at the scene.
The crash happened around 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, on Voice Road, just east of Summit City Road, sheriff's deputies said.
Preliminary investigation shows that a 29-year-old Maple City woman was driving west on Voice when she lost control of her vehicle and it left the road, striking the victim while he was in his driveway.
The investigation continues, sheriff's deputies said.

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as Tyler Dean Troyer, 25, of Kingsley.
Troxell, Paul J., 66, of Goshen, Elkhart Co.., IN died May 17, 2017 at the same place. He was born April 1, 1951 at Monticello, KY to Dillard and Evalee (Foster) Troxell. On March 24, 1984 in Elkhart, IN he was married to Sandra Mullett, who survives.
Surviving are children, Loretta Penney, Paul (Marianne) Troxell, Jr., Tadd (Cyndi) Troxell; five grandchildren, and two brothers, Dallas Troxell, and Steve Troxell.
Paul was a member of Silverwood Mennonite Church. He worked as a quality inspector at Parker-Hannifin Corporation, retiring in February of this year.
Memorial services were held May 23, 2017 at Silverwood Mennonite Church, Goshen, IN with burial in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen, IN.

GOSHEN - Raymond L. Tyson, 94, of Goshen, died peacefully Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Goshen Greencroft Healthcare.
He was born to Elmer and Cora (Mumaw) Tyson on Dec. 4, 1922, in Elkhart County.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth L. (Bixler) Tyson on Dec. 26, 2013. Together they enjoyed 71 years of happy marriage.
Surviving are two daughters, Becky K. Tyson (Perc Blosser) and Brenda S. (Andy) Buller, both of Goshen; son Kerm R. (Michelle) Tyson of Apache Junction, Arizona; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Also surviving are two sisters, Evelyn (Lawrence) Troyer and Vivian (Dale) Kaser, both of Goshen; two brothers, Merl (Gloria) Tyson of Goshen and Herb (Grace) Tyson of Sarasota, Florida; and a sister-in-law, Esther Tyson of Sarasota.
Preceding him in death was a brother, Harold Tyson.
Together he and his wife were co-owners/managers of Shamrock Mobile Home Parks in Warsaw and Nappanee.
He was an active member of the Mobile Home Association during those years.
In earlier years, he worked at Lehman Veal, Lamb and Poultry in Wakarusa.
He was a member of the Lions Club, Nappanee and a 1940 graduate of Wakarusa High School.
Ray and his wife enjoyed many winters in Mission, Texas, at Mission Bell Resort. golfing, traveling, woodworking, playing cards and volunteering 3,000 plus hours at Goshen Greencroft were some of his many enjoyments.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, May 21,at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen.
A celebration of life service will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 22, at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, Goshen.
Private family burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery.

Tyson, Raymond L., 94, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN died May 18, 2017 at the same place. He was born December 5, 1922 in Elkhart Co., IN to Elmer and Cora (Mumaw) Tyson. On December 5, 1942 he was married to Ruth L. Bixler, who was born November 22 1922 and died December 26, 2013.

Umble, Miriam E. Kreider, 91, of Parkesburg, PA died December 9, 2017 at Lancaster, Lancaster Co., PA. She was born November 6, 1926 at Palmyra, MO to John F. and Matie Mae (Hinkle) Kreider. On June 9, 1949 he/she was married to R. Clair Umble, who was born June 16, 1919 and died April 19, 2017.
Surviving are children, Ronald N. (Diane Zimmerman) Umble; Herbert Umble; Jay (Kimberly Kreider) Umble; and Arthur (Jeni Hiett) Umble; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and siblings, Harold G. Kreider, John T. Kreider, Anna M. Zook, P. Nelson Kreider, Wendell D. Kreider, Carolyn E. (Douglas) Kearbey, and Hazel M. (Monroe) Kauffman.
Two sisters, Verna Graybill and Kathryn Kreider preceded her in death.
Charter member of Sandy Hill Mennonite Church.
Gifted and prolific artist.

Vanpelt, Lloyd
June 30, 1938 - December 11, 2017
COLUMBIANA- Lloyd Vanpelt, 79, of Columbiana, passed away early Monday morning, December 11,[2017] at Covington Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in East Palestine.
Lloyd was born on June 30, 1938 in Salem, a son of John Robert and Barbara Ellen (Shaum) Vanpelt.
A lifelong member of Pleasant View Mennonite Church, Lloyd married Luella Falb on June 27, 1964 at the church. She preceded him in death on February 4, 2014.
Lloyd was a dairy farmer and worked at the Damascus Livestock auction for over 60 years. He also did part-time construction work, doing carpentry and concrete work. He enjoyed riding on his John Deere 620 and spending time with his grandchildren.
Lloyd leaves to cherish his precious memories three daughters, Laura Mae Vanpelt of Berlin, Lucille (Robin) Martin of Snover, Mich., and Louise (John) Steiner of Columbiana; three sons, Lloyd Jr. (Reba) of Columbiana, Leonard (Della) of North Lima, and Leon (Gayle) of Columbiana; two brothers, his twin Floyd (Esther) and Wayne (Rebecca), both of Columbiana; 24 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson and a sister Ruth Witmer.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, 154 S. Elm St. and one hour prior to the services from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 14, [2017] at Pleasant View Mennonite Church, 4000 Renkenberger Rd., Columbiana, where the church ministry will officiate.
Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.
